The popular destination and sport for bird watching are around Kathmandu valley (Phulchoki, Godavari, Nagarjun, Bagmati River, Taudaha and Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve where 500 species birds find), Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, Chitwan National Park and Bardia National Park.

Birds watching sport around Kathmandu Valley :
The surrounding hills with variety of ecology, ranking forest to rhododendron, oak and pine forests offer for living 500 species of birds within the Kathmandu valley.

The highest pick of the Valley Phulchoki, is situated 20 km south eat of Kathmandu where 265 species birds has been recorded to date. Botanical Garden inside Godavari where 100 species of birds has been recorded. The Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve, is the next sport for bird watching which situated 11km to the North of Kathmandu. Other good destinations for bird watching are Nagerjun Forest, situated 5 km, Bagmati River - flowing into the Valley from Shivapuri hill, Taudaha, a lake on the way to Dakshinkali.

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve for birds watching:
After being a combination of grassland, deciduous forest, 492 species of birds, Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve has been represented one of the best location for bird watcher. Which is located eastern part of Nepal in sub-Terai belt. This is a small (175 sq km) reserve in Nepal.

Chitwan National Park for birds watching:
This park is situated at the middle part of Nepal at Terai belt. Approximately five hour drove or 35 minute flight takes to visit the park, where 255 species of bird have been recorded.

Bardia National park for birds watching:
This is a next popular destination for bird watching. Bardia National Park is situated in the far West of Nepal. The park is covered by forest, river and grass lands. Boating in Karnali River provides an opportunity to view variety of birds beside jungle walk

Day by day itinerary

Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu:
Upon arrival at the Kathmandu airport, our representative meets you and transfer by private vehicle. Overnight at hotel. Day 02 : Full day sightseeing heritage sights:
Morning have a breakfast. Our tour guide will pick you from hotel then drive for full day sightseeing of Kathmandu Durbar Square, Shyambhunath and Patan city. Drive back to hotel and overnight at hotel. Day 03 : Full day bird watching activities in around Kathmandu Valley:
After breakfast our naturalist guide will pick up you from hotel and drive "Phulchowki" and "Godavari Royal Botanical Garden" then enjoy full day watching trip. Evening drive back to hotel and overnight at Hotel. Day 04 : Drive to Chitwan:
After breakfast you will drive by a private vehicle for Chitwan which is about 160 K.M which takes 4 hours drive. You will arrive Chitwan by after noon then you will offer Lunch, and start village tour to a nearby ethnic Tharu village where you will learn more about the life and lifestyle of the Tharus. Visit to the National Park Visitor’s centre where you can learn more about the history of the National Park and about wildlife & Sun set view from the bank of Rapti River.
Evening, you will enjoy Tharu cultural dance presentation (which you will also participate in) by the local villagers or Slide show presentation on almost everything under the Chitwan.
Late evening you will offer Dinner and overnight at hotel. Day 05 : Enjoy full day birds watching and jungle safari activities:
Have a breakfast, enjoy canoe ride along the Rapti River which provides you an excellent opportunity for Bird Watching and for seeing the 2 rare species of crocodiles; the Marsh Mugger and the fish eating Gharial. After that you will starts Jungle Walk for birdwatching trip, on the way back you can enjoy the elephant bathing.
Afternoon back to hotel and have a delicious lunch. Evening, you will enjoy Elephant Safari this is next good opportunity to see four different kinds of birds and many animals such as deer, rhinoceros, wild bore, monkey, leopard, sloth bear and the Royal Bengal Tiger (If you are lucky). You will also encounter many other smaller mammals that have made Chitwan their home.
Evening enjoy Tharu cultural dance presentation or Slides show presentation then after have a dinner and overnight at hotel. Day 06 : Continious birds watching and jungle safari activities:
Morning have a breakfast then visti the the Government Elephant Breeding Centre. Afternoon, have a Lunch then starts jeep drive to Twenthy Thousand Lake which is next opportunity to see many birds. Evening rest and have a dinner then overnight at hotel. Day 07 : Drive from Chitwan to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve:
After breakfast you will drive Chitwan to "Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve" by a private vehicle. It is 300 k.m from Chitwan which takes about 8 hours. You will get off at "Laukhi" then you will be met with staff of the camp and transfer to the camp. Overnight at camp. Day 08 : Full day bird watching activities:
The day always start with an early morning wake up call, which is the best time to see birds. Birdwatching, on first light for the early wakers, in the camp premises and marshlands can be very rewarding to see the shy species like Crakes and Bitterns. The highly noctornal Fishing cat which hunts in our camp ponds can sometimes be seen at dawn and dusk and one has to be very silent to approach the ponds. Breakfast will be followed by a full day birdwatching walk inside the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve with packed lunch. The area between the Camp and Kusaha ( Park Headquater) is the best area for birds and wildlife. The thin Indian Rosewood forest provide excellent habitat for Warblers, Flycatchers, Oriole, Bush Warblers, Raptors and a large varieties of Waders. Returning to the camp by late afternoon for a cup of tea/ coffee or a bottle of chilled beer! Dinner followed by briefing for the next days program. Day 09 : Fly from Biratnager to Kathmandu:
We spend the morning of today birdwatching around the camp premises before breakfast. We take time off for packing and depending on the flight time we departure for Biratnagar airport, 2 hours before check-in time. Fly from Biratnagar to Kathmandu. Our tour guide will pick up you from Kathmandu airport and enjoy sightseeing of "Pashupatinath" and "Buddhanath". Drive to hotel and free leisure time. Overnight at hotel. Day 10 : Departure from Kathmandu:
Have a breakfast in the morning. We will drop you at international airport as per flight time.
