Kanchanjunga Trek
The third highest mountain in the
world is Kanchanjunga (8586 meter). This great Himalaya is
standing on the boarder of Nepal and Sikkim. The
Kanchanjunga trek route is opened since 1988 and people have
been trekking in this area in connection with mountaineering
expedition. The major ethnic group inhabiting the
Kanchanjunga region are the Limbus and Rais and we can study
their culture, lifestyle and communities. The trek journey
begins with flight from Kathmandu to Suketar (Taplejung). A
pleasant and panoramic view of Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt,
Makalu (8463m) and Kanchanjunga touch our heart during the
trek. A special trekking permit have to be received for this
trek.
