Namtso Lake Trek
Nam Tso is situated 190 km North of the Lhasa, it is one of
the most famous lakes in Tibet. as well as being a very
important pilgrimage sight. In the Tibetan “Nam” means Sky
and “Tso” means Lake. The lake plays sanctuary to many
species of migrating birds and other local birds. This is
second largest saltwater lake in China and Chinese
controlled territories it is the largest in Tibet, it is
approximately 70km long and 30km wide. The Lake is easily
accessible from Lhasa. While driving to Nam Tso from Lhasa,
we cross over the high pass of Yangpachen (5630 m.). It
takes at least 21 days to circle the shores of the entire
lake.

Itinerary of Namtso Lake Trek
Day 01 : Fly, Kathmandu / Lhasa and drive to Tsedang.
Overnight at hotel
Day 02 : Visit: Potala Palace, Sera Monastery & Norbulingkha
Palace
Day 03 : Visit: Jokhang Temple, Drepung Monastery & Barkhor
Market
Day 04 : At leisure
Day 05 : Morning drive to Damxung and start trekking.
Overnight camp
Day 06 : Trekking around Namtso Lake. camp.
Day 07 : Trek around Nam Tso Lake. camp.
Day 08 : Trek back to Nagenla Pass and drive to Lhasa.
Overnight hotel
Day 09 : Lhasa / Gyantse.
Day 10 : Gyantse / Shigatse
Day 11 : Shigatse / Lhatse
Day 12 : Lhatse / Tingri
Day 13 : Tingri / Nyalam
Day 14 : Nyalam / Zhang-Mu / Kathmandu
